Therefore, below, Jade has listed some of the main key tanning lotion skincare ingredients featured in different tanning lotions. This also details how they improve the tanning process and overall feel and experience of a lotion.

M

Menthol

Delivers a cooling, soothing sensation to tanning lotions. This makes it ideal for those who don’t enjoy a hot sunbed and also those with active lifestyles

Meadowfoam

Hydrates your skin by creating a moisture barrier to prevent water from escaping. This also combats free radical damage and the signs of ageing.

Macadamia Oil

The vitamin E present in macadamia oil has many properties that may benefit skin. For example, it absorbs easily, making it a good moisturizer for very dry skin. This additionally enhances lotion spreadability, making it ideal for delivering Delayed bronzers for even coverage.

Mahakanni Extract

Orange Extract

Orange contains citric acid that helps brighten the skin organically. This is also rich in vitamin C, making it ideal for combatting the signs of ageing.

Panthenol

Tea Tree Oil

This has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties to reduce inflammation and enhance healing, as well as being rich in antioxidants for enhanced skincare. What’s more, Tea Tree Oil is ideal for pH balancing. This combats natural bacteria on the skin, to prevent after-tanning odours for a fresh feel and smell post-tanning session.

Vanilla Extract

Walnut Extract

Water

An obvious one, but an essential one! Water is key for lotion deliverance, and spreadability. This also ensures deep hydration, and refreshes skin.

Wild Berries

These are essential for helping fight free radicals which makes your skin more radiant. Wild berries contain two main antioxidants that are in charge of detoxifying your body. They also hydrate, rejuvenate, and promote healthy hair growth.

Witch Hazel

Witch hazel has many benefits for skin, including relieving inflammation, tightening pores, and helping with razor bumps. It may also help reduce acne, since it can cleanse your skin of excess oil.
